How to Join RTA iRacing Leagues
1. An Active iRacing Account
- In order to race with RTA Virtual Motorsport you will need to have an iRacing account.
We strongly recommend that you only use iRacing via the official iRacing UI that you can download via iracing.com - DO NOT use iRacing through Steam!
It causes more headaches than it is worth when it comes to updates. - Create your account on iRacing and pay for your monthly subscription.
- In advance of a season, you will be able to see the car and track calendar for the season.
- As iRacing uses a ‘pay to play’ system, you may have to purchase said cars or tracks if they are not provided free under the base subscription
- RTA does not operate under the leagues tab in iRacing. Every practice session/race session will be under the ‘Hosted’ session under ‘RTA (‘whatever the car combo’ cup/championship etc)’. You can use the search function to find RTA sessions.
- These sessions will be locked with a password that will only be provided to people that have paid for that particular season of RTA (explained further under Discord section).
- Note: You do not need any official iRacing licence to participate with RTA. The stronger your iRating and licence, the better chance of starting in the A class but new users of iRacing will be in the B class automatically.
2. Create a Profile on RTA Virtual Motorsport’s website and sign up for the upcoming season
- You will need to create your own profile on www.rtavirtualmotorsport.com
- To do this, go to the website and on the top menu bar go to ‘My Account’ and go to ‘Register’
- Here you will be asked to fill in your details and verify via email.
- One of the things you will be asked and need to know is your iRacing customer ID.
- This can be found in the iRacing UI by clicking on the helmet icon in the top right and selecting “Account,”
- Once registered, you can login and fill out your profile details.
- Now that you are registered, navigate to the shop icon at the top right hand corner of the menu bar and click ‘Shop’.
- Here you can purchase your entry for the next season.
- Once completed, make sure you are in the Discord server where you will receive the dedicated role for that season to see all the season info.
- All championship and penalty points can be found under ‘Current Series’.
- You will also find information such as race calendar.
3. Join the RTA Discord Server
- In order to join RTA’s Discord server, you must first have a Discord account.
- Sign up at discord.com, download the Discord app to your PC.
- Discord is used for many things when it comes to RTA
- Voice chat within sessions
- Critical updates
- Season announcements
- Chat with others in the community
- Incident points/reviews

5. Gantry TV Live Broadcasts
- Gantry TV (unless specified pre-season) will broadcast every RTA race via Gantry TV’s Youtube channel and RTA Virtual Motorsport’s Facebook page.
- This consists of live coverage of the racing with broadcast control covered by Ronan Hederman of Sim Consultants, commentary by Kevin Galvin and Evan Dalton, championships points updates and interviews.
